A VETERAN'S BATTLE

When William returned home following an above-the-knee leg amputation, the only way he could get inside was to drag his body up the steps to his trailer home.

Having had open-heart surgery in recent years and suffering other health complications linked to Agent Orange exposure in Vietnam, it was apparent that living this way was NOT an option. But like many veterans, he lives on a fixed income and works hard to make ends meet.

He couldn't afford the solution.

LETA'S EMPTY NEST

Leta sat for weeks in an empty house in the country, miles and miles away from where her husband was receiving skilled nursing care and rehabilitation.

His Parkinson's was becoming more and more debilitating, and Leta was fighting a growing sense of helplessness.

Their home was no longer safe and accessible for him to return home.
